About Extension Education Institute, Nilokheri
The Extension Education Institute, Nilokheri was established in 1959 as a Trainers’ Training Institute to provide training in Extension Teaching Methods and Communication Media. It is one of the pioneer and premier training institutes of the country which carrying the responsibility of organizing in-service training courses for middle level extension personnel engaged in broad based agricultural extension system. Training is the most important tool in the development of human resource in any organization. Therefore, this institute caters the training to the middle level extension functionaries of Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Forestry, Fisheries, Soil Conservation, Agricultural Engineering, and State Agricultural Universities etc. of the nine northern states viz. J&K, Punjab, Haryana, H.P., Uttaranchal, Delhi, U.P., Bihar, Jharkhand and one union territory Chandigarh. The Institute is fully financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India. EEI, Nilokheri is conducting training programmes since 1959 therefore, have a vast experience in organising training in the field of extension education.
